Treating HIV
- HIV is spread during sexual activity, which includes vaginal, oral, and anal sex with an infected person
- HIV is also spread through the sharing of needles or injection equipment with an infected person
- HIV can also be spread from an infected mother to her infant before or during the birth process or breast feeding
- Saliva, sweat, tears, vomit, feces and urine CANNOT transmit HIV to another person

- No cure exists for HIV infections. However, drugs have been developed that can keep the virus under control for years.
- Get educated!!
- Practice abstinence
- Avoid multiple partners
- Don't share needles or injection equipment
- Avoid drinking alcohol and taking drugs.
- Use a condom or other appropriate prevention methods during sexual activity
